MARY ELLEN ALLEN

Mary Ellen, born and raised in Texas, moved with her husband, Scott, to Durango, Colorado in 2019 to manage her husband’s CPA office.


She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Park University in Parkville, Missouri in 1991. While working full-time in healthcare management, she then went on to complete a Master of Business Administration degree at The University of Texas at Arlington in 1998. Wanting a new challenge, she then decided to begin a 20+ year career as a Chief of Staff/Executive Assistant to CEOs/Managing Partners for various industries, which included managing family wealth offices. She not only sharpened her communication and organizational skills, but also learned a great deal about managing a business.


After many years of enjoying working with people and numbers, she decided to partner with her long-time friend, Hiral Patel, to form Blue Skies Bookkeepers, LLC.


In her free time, Mary Ellen enjoys spending time with Scott, reading, hiking, and gardening. She continues to work on her cooking skills, which leave much to be desired!
